The Brooklyn Nets got off to a great start in their series vs. the Chicago Bulls with a Game 1 blowout, but they came back to earth in Game 2 as the Bulls stole home-court advantage. If the Nets want to prevent falling behind in the series, it will be tough to do so if Joe Johnson isn’t playing.
During the season, Johnson missed a handful of games with what was described as a sore heal. It was actually plantar fasciitis and that has flared up again for him.
In fact, he is officially listed as a game-time decision for Game 3 tomorrow night in Chicago, and did not participate in practice today. But if Joakim Noah can play with his plantar fasciitis injury, you can imagine Johnson will do the same. But how effective will he be? Chicago may have caught a break.
Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Johnson did not practice Wednesday due to a recurrence of plantar fasciitis in his left foot, and he may be limited in some fashion for Game 3 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series with the Bulls.
The six-time All-Star, who is officially listed as a game-time decision for Thursday’s tilt in Chicago, missed 10 games this season due to injury, four of which were because of what was termed a “sore left heel.” Johnson told the media Wednesday that the injury has been nagging him for more than two months, and he re-aggravated it during the first quarter of Monday’s Game 2.
