With the thirst for the re-release of sneakers from the 90s at an all-time high, once luxury brand FILA Sports makes a move of their own by bringing back a favorite from Grant Hill’s signature line in the FILA Ninety6.
Originally called the FILA GH2, this silhouette is scheduled to return in five different colors branded under the name the FILA Ninety6 which is a reference to the year 1996 when the original GH2 was first in stores. The original colorway worn by Grant Hill during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta are present in this retroing as along with four other color combinations.
The rumored release date for all five of these pairs is April 1st but that hasn’t been confirmed to me yet so just keep that as the tentative drop day.
Will Jerry Stackhouse branch out and throw on a fellow endorsee’s sneaker? Will Grant Hill forego the kicks he’s been wearing this season and dip into nostalgia with the FILA GH2 of which the letters come directly for his own initials? Only time will tell.
