Andrew Bynum was the key piece for Philadelphia in the multi-team trade that sent high flying Sixer Andre Iguodala to Denver. So all of Sixers Nation has been holding their collective breath, waiting for news that Andrew Bynum is back, healthy, and ready to go after off-season knee surgery.
And the Sixers organization hasn’t disappointed, after constantly telling fans that Bynum is on track to have a full season. In fact they recently said they were only sitting him out as a “precautionary measure” for preseason and some practices “in order to maximize the therapeutic effects of the Orthokine therapy he received earlier this month.”
But more and more it looks like Bynum’s knee rehab isn’t going so well, and concerns are being raised about the possibility Bynum’s knee problems could be a long term issue for the Sixers.
94WIP’s Howard Eskin says that he is “getting the sense there is a more serious injury with Andrew Bynum’s knee than the Sixers are telling us. I will go as far as saying I think the Lakers may have given the Sixers damaged goods.”
Have the Sixers just bought damaged goods from the Lakers? And if so, how devastating would the effects be on the organization after giving up a key piece to their franchise in Iguodala?
