Adam Morrison has had quite a roller coaster career. After being drafted in 2006 by the Charlotte Bobcats with the 3rd overall selection, the expectations for Morrison were sky high. He had a few decent showings in his rookie campaign, putting up acceptable numbers for a rookie, but the problem was he was shooting a very poor percentage and struggled defending at the pro-level. Then in his second season he sustained a knee injury before having a chance to prove himself to the Bobcats. The following year he was traded to the Lakers where he rode the pine on two championship squads. He was subsequently released by the team.
Most expected Morrison’s career to be over at that point, and everyone was quick to label Morrison a bust. But Morrison wasn’t done fighting. He went overseas to play for Redstar Belgrade where Morrison averaged 15.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 29 minutes a game, becoming his team’s top scorer. This summer Morrison played for the Brooklyn Nets squad and shot the ball well. He didn’t log a lot of minutes but played well enough to earn a couple of training camp invites. The Portland Trailblazers have decided to give Morrison a shot in the early part of the year.
