Somewhat lost in the shuffle of Dwight Howard relocating from Orlando to Los Angeles this off-season was the unbelievable pick-up of Andrew Bynum by the Philadelphia 76ers.
True, the 25 year old center has been injury prone, has shown tons of immaturity, and has turned up his nose at authority figures over his 8 year NBA career but the 7 foot man-child is a certified All Star, and gives Philly a fighting chance to break out of mediocrity and one day challenge the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference.
Maybe things won’t change as video surfaced early this preseason of Bynum jacking up 3 pointers in practice. Haven’t we seen this before somewhere?
Besides his ongoing rehab, the talk around Philly, is the rather large afro Bynum has been sporting during media day and during interviews this preseason.
Bynum this weekend showed up at teammate Evan Turner’s 25th birthday bash/Halloween party dressed as a pimp, butterfly collar and gold chain to boot. Maybe he’s trying to channel the inner strength of former Sixer great “Dr J” Julius Erving?
