For about two years now, all we’ve heard regarding the Kings’ potential move is that they’d relocate from Sacramento to Anaheim. But hold on. Is Virginia Beach now in play?
A consortium of sports and entertainment companies has approached Virginia Beach about forming a partnership to build an 18,000-seat arena near the Oceanfront and bringing a professional sports team – possibly the NBA’s Sacramento Kings – to the city. A top executive from one of the businesses, Comcast-Spectacor, will make a public presentation to the City Council on Tuesday, Mayor Will Sessoms said. …. Sessoms said Comcast-Spectacor has guaranteed that if an arena deal goes through, the company would bring a professional sports team to town.
