Even though he’s pushing two decades in the league, you could barely tell by the way Kevin Garnett played down the stretch in the playoffs for the Celtics. For many games, he was the best player for Boston and carried the offensive load. Despite that, there was speculation that he would retire this offseason. Such is not the case.
Kevin Garnett is returning to the Boston Celtics after considering retirement, multiple sources told ESPN.
The forward will receive a three-year, $34 million deal, the sources said.
“The decision came down to whether KG wanted to keep playing,” a source told the Boston Herald. “And once he decided that he did, it was going to be Boston. He wasn’t going to leave Doc (Rivers) and those guys and play anywhere else.”
