After 30+ years as arguably the nation’s best Summer League outside of the professional ranks, Los Angeles’ Drew League has served as a proving ground for some of the nation’s up-and-coming young ballers and NBA stars alike.
Last Summer during the NBA Lockout, the nation finally got to bear witness to what the West Coast already knew as the best playground games on the planet as NBA superstars like Kobe Bryant dropped 45 points and sank a game winning shot and even Lebron James wowed the crown with thunderous windmill dunks.
Fast forward to 2012, and the Drew League is back for it’s 39th season as many of the usual cast of characters like NBA veterans Metta World Peace, Demar DeRozan, and Dorrell Wright are back in an attempt to capture that ever elusive Summer League crown.
This year, there’s no denying that one of the most talented and undoubtedly colorful squads is the Money Game team, headlined by NBA stars Metta World Peace, Paul George, and John Wall, along with hip-hop stars The Game and singer Chris Brown, who has a lights out floor game.
While Money Game may have the most stylish uniforms in the League they also lead the Drew in highlight reel plays, like this awesome end-to-end drive by Chris Brown, leading to a pinpoint pass to John Wall at the rim for a monsterous reverse jam……
