No one can call into question Serge Ibaka’s ability to defend. He’s a serviceable offensive player, but he is most definitely an elite defender. And apparently that makes Serge feel he is qualified to analyze the defense of the Miami Heat players. More specifically, MVP Lebron James…
Oklahoma City Thunder forward Serge Ibaka is not impressed with Heat forward LeBron James’ defensive effort on Kevin Durant so far in the NBA Finals.
“LeBron is not a good defender,” Ibaka said about the player who received the most votes for the league’s all-defensive team, which is selected by the coaches.
“He can play defense for two to three minutes but not 48 minutes.”
Ibaka goes on to admit the Heat are playing pretty good ‘team defense’ to slow down Durant, but gives no credit whatsoever to Lebron James.
Are these comments intended to spark his teammates to stick up to the bullies, or is Ibaka just speaking out of turn?
