The only reason James Harden doesn’t start is because he’s on the Oklahoma City Thunder. On just about any other team, he’d crack the starting lineup. He’s a very talented player and impacts the game in more ways than just scoring. He helps stabilize the offense which is dominated by Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook taking the majority of the shots. He could win this award for years to come if he really wants to.
The Oklahoma City Thunder has scheduled a news conference for Thursday afternoon, during which time James Harden is expected to be formally introduced as the NBA’s 2011-12 Sixth Man of the Year, The Oklahoman has learned.
The official announcement from the NBA is expected to come late Thursday morning.
