Players that stand under 6 feet tall that can dominate a basketball game on any level is a rarety in today’s game. With players being put through weigh-ins, standing high jumps, and bench press drills prior to even being drafted, it’s amazing that diminutive talents like Tiny Archibald, Mugsy Bogues, and Allen Iverson ever made their mark on the professional ranks.
When it comes to the high school ranks, there is perhaps no better pound-for-pound better player than Baltimore, Maryland native Aquille Carr. Measuring out at a diminutive 5’6 and 140lbs soaking wet, Carr is hands down one of the best players in the 2013 Class.
His sophomore mixtape has drawn more than 3 million hits on youtube and was highlighted by an amazing 58 point game.
Although he’s only a junior, fans of Big East Conference basketball were pleased to hear that Aquille will be taking his talents to New Jersey to play for Seton Hall upon graduation from Paterson Catholic next season.
He won the MVP award at the Brandon Jennings Invitational earlier this season and has taken his show on the road recently in an attempt to win a Maryland State 3A Title.
In the Maryland State Regional Finals, Aquille Carr once again excited the crowd by smashing home a poster dunk over a much taller defender, helping his Patterson Clippers advance to the Semi-Finals on Thursday night.
