With the Miami Heat stringing wins together fairly effortlessly these days. Maybe a bit too effortlessly for their own good, they have their sights set on winning the CHIP.
The Heat made a strong move yesterday to solidify their front court for the playoffs by signing Ronny Turiaf the bruiser in the paint. Turiaf plays with heart and leaves it all on the court. Although he has missed most of the season due to a hand injury, the Heat jumped at the chance to sign him when he cleared waivers so he must be in decent shape to close out the season.

Turiaf is not only a big body, he’s a veteran presence that is considered a blue-collar worker on defense, but can also score if and when he’s needed. I think this is a great move for the Heat, as Turiaf is coming at a good price and may turn out to be extremely valuable in the long, grind-it-out, post-season. And if not, its not going to break the bank.
