If the Grizzlies are getting the Gilbert Arenas from Washington, where he was one of the best scorers in the business, they’ll be in good shape. But chances are that he’s a shell of his formers self. Either way, he should pay dividends for the Grizzlies coming down the stretch.
After sitting out the entire season, Gilbert Arenas has found a new home with the Memphis Grizzlies, the team confirmed Tuesday.
The 6-3 guard, who last played for the Orlando Magic before being waived via the one-time amnesty clause, was signed to a pro-rated, one-year deal with the Grizzlies.
Arenas averages 21.2 points a game for his career, but hasn’t performed at that level for quite some time. He averaged just 10.8 points with the Washington Wizards and Magic last season.
The Grizzlies (25-18) have the NBA’s 19th-ranked offense at 95.1 points a game going into Tuesday’s game at the Sacramento Kings.
