March 15, 2012 – The Hoop Doctors
First Jeff Green, now Chris Wilcox. What are the chance that two guys from the same team miss significant action in the same season due to heart ailments? We here at The Hoop Doctors wish both a speedy recovery.
In a routine that has become a little too familiar, Doc Rivers told his team yesterday that Chris Wilcox would require aortic surgery.
The Celtics forward, who will have the procedure done on March 29 at the Cleveland Clinic as the result of an enlarged aorta, is the second player the team has lost this season to an aortic procedure. Jeff Green had surgery to repair an aortic aneurism on Jan. 9, also at the Cleveland Clinic.
