The Dallas Mavericks have finally set the date for their pre-game ring ceremony. It’s always a special event for the players and fans to see the last years NBA World Champions receive their bling. The Mavericks raised their Championship Banner before the season opening game, but have been trying to find the perfect time for their ring ceremony.
And point guard J.J. Barea can thank Mark Cuban for the timing which was no coincidence. The date has been set for January 25th, 2012, when the Mavs host the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Owner Mark Cuban wanted Barea to be able to take part in the ceremony. Barea, a key role player during the Mavs’ title run, signed a four-year, $19 million contract with the Timberwolves after the Mavs only made him a one-year offer because they wanted to maintain financial flexibility next summer.
“It’s good that J.J. will get to be here,” Cuban said of the ring ceremony. “It’ll be fun.” [Via]
Wolves nation will be hoping that watching the ceremony can further inspire the Timberwolves to continue their improved play behind the outputs of Kevin Love and co.
