The Mavs are losing pieces of last year’s championship puzzle left and right. Gone are Tyson Chandler, J.J. Barea and now DeShawn Stevenson.
The Nets have agreed to terms with free agent guard DeShawn Stevenson and expect to sign him today according to a person with an understanding of the team’s plans. The person requested anonymity because the team has not officially announced the signing.
Stevenson, 30, played for the NBA champion Dallas Mavericks last season, starting 54 games and averaging 5.3 points on .388 shooting from the field. He was used as something of a defensive stopper for the Mavericks.
