The Knicks’ biggest deficiency from a year ago was defense, particularly at the 5 spot. Rumors at the end of last year said they’d be after Marc Gasol and DeAndre Jordan. But there wasn’t much talk about Tyson Chandler. If this happens, it would fill a very big need for New York.
The New York Knicks are strong candidates to sign NBA free agent Tyson Chandler, according to CBS Sports reporter Ken Berger.
For the Knicks to acquire the 29-year-old center they would likely have to grant Chauncey Billups amnesty or trade the 14-year veteran point guard to make way for Chandler. If the Knicks were to come to terms with the center, the move would likely put New York out of the Chris Paul bidding war.
