Are Ginobili and Wallace the ‘Tim Tebows’ of the NBA?

It appears as though Tim Tebow mania has officially made its way into Nuggets’ training camp.

According to a report from the Denver Post, Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl believes Spurs star Manu Ginobili and four-time Defensive Player of the Year Ben Wallace are the closest things to Tim Tebow the NBA has to offer.

Here is what Karl had to say concerning the two players’ similarities to the Denver Broncos’ polarizing quarterback:

“With the will to win, Manu Ginobili is the type of guy, he has this exuberance of – we’re going to win the (darn) game with effort, passion and commitment. He’s the first guy that came to mind. A guy who wins it on his heart more than his skills – Ben Wallace. He was an undersized, defensive player who can’t score, but won a championship.”

I am sure Wallace and Ginobili would be honored in some way, shape or form of the comparison to the Heisman Trophy winner. And who knows, maybe this season after Ginobili hits a clutch three-pointer or Wallace blocks a shot they can do some “Tebowing.”
