For the second time during the playoffs, Paul Pierce decided to through out another bold prediction, this time against the Lakers.
With the Celtics up 107-100 with a little over a minute to go, Pierce was heard saying, “We ain’t coming back to LA.” As brash as it may sound, Pierce shouted out a similar sentiment in the Orlando series when he stated “We are coming home to close it out.” This being of course when Boston was up on the Magic 2-0 in the Eastern Conference finals.
Surely Pierce did not intend the statement to be picked up by cameras, but Pierce is a fiery guy and will certainly stick to his guns. The question is though, can Boston win 3 in a row at home against the mighty Lakers? Strict intuition would state “no”, but the way Boston has been playing and the way they have spread the ball around would indicate that there is a chance for the 18th championship banner to be hung high in Beantown.
