Michael Jordan is a legend in Chicago. He could be quite arguably the greatest athlete at his respective sport to ever live. And if not, you can’t argue that he’s probably the most ‘recognizable’ athlete to ever live. That plus his 6’6″ tall imposing frame at a hockey game would stick out like a sore thumb.
That was the case this past weekend as Michael Jordan opted to skip Game #2 of the NBA Finals in favor of attending Game #5 of the NHL’s Stanley Cup Finals between the Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers at the United Center. Jordan was a welcome sight for Chicago Sports fans, not surprisingly considering he has a statue with his likeness outside the building, and a retired jersey hanging from the rafters.
MJ’s jersey of choice? Chicago Blackhawks Captain Jonathan Toews’ #19.
