The Miami Heat upset the LA Lakers last night in overtime. If you watched the game you probably had the same feeling I did about 2 minutes into over-time that the Heat were bound to win. Why? Because Kobe Bryant was hitting everything he took. Problem was, he was taking every single shot for the Lakers on every possession with very little ball movement. The entire Laker team was standing still watching Kobe dribble and pull up each trip up the floor. At one point in early overtime Kobe had 12 straight Lakers points, and yet it was like night and day watching the Heat offense. Seemingly every trip up the floor in the crunch moments a new Heat player was stepping up to tie the game or take the lead. Quentin Richardson, Udonis Haslem, Jermaine O’Neal, Carlos Arroyo, and yes even their star Dwyane Wade. To me that was the most telling factor in the ultimate decision with Miami coming away with an impressive win to pull to .500 in the standings.
On a separate note, the ‘Beas’ last night brought his hops. The kid is downright explosive when he wants to be. Check out this nasty putback dunk Beasley threw down on Pau Gasol of the Lakers in the paint. Get off me…Ahhhhhhh:
