Preview of ’96 Kentucky Championship Video “Untouchables”

February 9, 2010 – Allen Moll

Are you a fan of the 1996 NCAA Champion Kentucky Wildcats?

If your answer is yes, then you might be interested in knowing that there is a new video about to be released over at UntouchablesofKentucky.com that will help you reminisce about one of the Top 10 NCAA teams of All-Time.

With a Rick Pitino coached roster featuring a boatload of future NBA stars like Antoine Walker, Tony Delk, Derek Anderson, and Ron Mercer, the Wildcats tore through the competition in ’95-’96 by posting a 34-2 overall record that included an unblemished(16-0) SEC campaign and a 27 game winning streak.

Big Blue was so dominant that they destroyed their competition by an average of more than 24 ppg. They boasted a number of bench players like Jeff Sheppard and Nazr Mohammed who would go on to win their own NCAA title a few years later under former Kentucky and current Minnesota coach, Tubby Smith.

The in depth documentary features a number of interviews by former UK alums and players, namely Ashley Judd, Kenny”Sky” Walker, Kyle Macy, and current Wildcat coach John Calipari.

As a bonus, if you are both a superfan of Kentucky and can afford to pay between $150-$300 for a ticket, you can be invited to an exclusive screening of the film in downtown Lexington on February 12th, where one can mingle with some of the former players and coaches from the ’96 team.

The video will be available for purchase on their website for $39.96 or $20 for the book.
