Legendary coach Bob Knight has proven to be an excellent source for to the point, insightful commentary for ESPN college hoops since he retired from coaching 2 seasons ago. He provides a no nonsense perspective which is sometimes a breath of fresh air from the dancing and dry humor we constantly see from Digger Phelps and Jay Bilas on the College Gameday crew.
Coach Knight is also known for giving some of the best one liners, quotes, and sound-bytes in the history of interviews. My personal favorite has to be when he explains to a reporter what is his favorite word.
Recently on SportsCenter, Hanna Storm caught up with Knight and asked his opinions on why the Tarheels are struggling and what his opinions are concerning how Kentucky’s John Wall handled Coach Calipari’s recent criticism over committing 7 turnovers in a game.
As predicted, Knight doesn’t disappoint in his usual blunt way of getting to the point. I wonder if “The General” will take kindly to a player not accepting criticism from a coach?
Knight is like a stick of dynamite. Light the fuse and back away:
