All season long the Cleveland Cavaliers have been the most dominant NBA team in the league. Especially with an almost perfect record at home, the Cavs are one of the toughest teams in the league to score on. If I asked 100 people why the Cavaliers are so successful this year about 99 of them would say “Lebron James”. That other 1 out of 100 is a blogger at Shaver Sports. His blog is very entertaining and covers everything Cavaliers.
So back to the question at hand. What is the reason for the Cavaliers success, I might ask? Shaver Sports: Krispy Kremes. That’s right folks, hot and gooey Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Professional athletes are allowed to eat doughnuts? I guess so, because apparently the Cavaliers squad have a team rule that each rookie is mandated to bring a two boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts to every Cavaliers shoot around practice. The picture to the right is rookie Darnell Jackson fulfilling his rookie duties, bringing the Krispy Kreme sweet tooth fix to his teammates, Lebron and Co.
And what happens if the rookies refuse or forget?:
When asked, during and interview with Fox Sports Ohio’s Dionne Miller, what would happen if he didn’t bring the doughnuts to a shootaround, he said the following:
“I forgot one time, and they (the veterans) kicked all the basketballs all over the stands, and we (Darnell Jackson, JJ Hickson, Jawad Williams) had to go and pick everyone of them up. I was ahh man.”
