adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2 – ‘Hyper Green’

As we get closer to the release of the Crazy Light 2, we knew that the first round of colorways available would become known to us. adidas announced that on May 24, five different pairs would drop on that day. The Baylor Bear-worn Electricity colorway and Chicago Bulls-esque colorways were expected, but here we see the Crazy Light 2 in some unconventional colors.
adidas called upon the Hyper Green color to accent entire midsole, Sprintframe, and laces of the black metallic upper on this adiZero Crazy Light 2. Like with most pairs, white is used on the Stripes branding seen above where your ankles would sit. Though these wouldn’t hook up with many NBA or NCAA team uniforms, that shouldn’t stop you from wearing them.

The adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2 drops in its ‘Hyper Green’ colorway along with four others on May 24th.
PEAK Team Dynamic II – ‘Lakers’ Release Info

JaVale McGee, one of PEAK’s premiere players, had a great game last week dropping NUMBER while they were at home against the Los Angeles Lakers tying the series at 3 a piece forcing the first Game 7 in the NBA Playoffs first round.
With LA having home court advantage in this series, the Staples Center will played host to the tie-breaker, with LA coming out as the winner advancing to play the Oklahoma City Thunder in the next round. As what could have been a diversionary tactic, the people over at PEAK dropped their Team Dynamic II sneaker in colors that would fit right in at home.
With the only PEAK Sports retail stores based out of the Westfield Culver City Mall and the flagship store on Melrose St in Los Angeles, this very Lakers-friendly colorway makes a lot of sense and would appeal to a market normally not as accessible to the brand.
The two PEAK stores in California are set up to take phone orders for those who are interested in this sneaker and not in the area.

adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2 – ‘Scarlet’

adidas is all in on the Crazy Light 2.
On May 26th, the Crazy Light 2 hits stores in five different colorways. We already know that a ‘Bred’ sneaker as well as the Baylor-worn ‘Electricity’ colorway drop that day so we now take a look at another one of the from the set.
This pair flips the Bred colorway by giving the red upper a metallic finish and using black on the new asymmetrical Sprintframe. These would be right at home on D Rose’s feet, but with him out and the Rose 3 dropping in a few months, I doubt that they will make a hardwood appearance on his feet but like KG said: anything is possible.

Air Jordan IV – ‘Cavs’ Release Info

2012 is the 23rd anniversary of the Jordan 4, which might explain why so many of them are releasing this year. 23 years ago during the first round of the Eastern Conference, Michael Jordan (wearing the Jordan 4s) and the Chicago Bulls defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers and went on to beat the New York Knicks in a six-game series advancing to the Eastern Conference finals only to beaten by the NBA champions of that year the Detroit Pistons.
The last few pairs of Jordan IVs have dropped in vintage-esque boxes with keychains and that won’t be any different on this release and expect it to continue through the end of the year. As for the sneaker itself the black nubuck upper features mostly Game Royal blue accents with Safety Orange seen on the sole and Jumpman branding.
Jordan Brand might’ve officially list these the ‘Cavs’ Jordan IVs with the inspiration originating from the ’88-’89 series against the Cavaliers and the uniforms they wore from 1984 thru 1993, but that won’t stop these from being called the Knicks 4s like we did earlier in the year.

The Air Jordan IV – ‘Cavs’ drops on May 12th for $160.
adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2 – ‘Electricity’

A neon green wrapped updated triple-layer SprintWeb upper of with an entirely blacked out midsole except for a panel underneath the heel colored white like the stripes above it makes up the ‘Electricity’ Crazy Light 2 by adidas. The midsole has been modified from the original Crazy Light so it could play house to a bigger asymmetrical Sprintframe which is suppose to contribute to keeping the sneaker’s weight down while returning the most energy and increasing motion control.
Unlike the ‘Bred’ Crazy Light 2 shown yesterday, the adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2 – ‘Electricity’ had a little hype behind it already since it first got attention via a Baylor game during their NCAA tournament run this year and was again showcased on the feet of all 2012 McDonalds All-American Game participants.
Since March, one of the most anticipated releases of the year in the basketball world has been these ‘Electricity’ adiZero Crazy Light 2s. The other three colors dropping on launch date haven’t been announced yet but expect more simple blocking and hopefully more scholastic colorways like the pair worn by players from schools like Kansas or a Indiana University edition.

adidas drops the ‘Electricity’ Crazy Light 2 on May 24th for $140, the same day as the ‘Bred’ and three other pairs yet to be announced so check our Kicks section for all upcoming info.
adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2 – ‘Bred’

Light done right.
Dropping in May during the NBA postseason is the adidas Crazy Light 2. Besides making aerodynamic and cushioning improvements, adidas has managed to take a few more ounces off of the original Crazy Light weight making that 9.5-ounce Crazy Light 2 the lightest basketball sneaker available.
A metallic black is used on the newer, thinner Sprintweb upper that looks like it allows for better lockdown strength during a game when laced snug. The midsole was raised to give the Crazy Light 2 more support which also makes for more of a counter when it comes time to colorblock.
For the second year in a row adidas has dropped a Crazy Light sneaker for their players who made it to the postseason. Last year Derrick Rose switched between the Rose 1.5 and Crazy Light a lot so be on the lookout for a potential Bulls PE.

The adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2 drops in this ‘Bred’ colorway with four others on May 24th for $140.
Two New Li-Ning – Turningpoint Colorways
What was previously thought to be an alternate for Evan Turner to lace up during All-Star Weekend, the blue/white Li-Ning Turningpoint hits their webstore along with a white/blue colorway. These pairs provide a good contrast against the Bred pair that we’re used to seeing Turner wear with the 76ers as the team pushes to keep their spot in the NBA playoffs.
All the elements of the original pair are seen on these two pairs from the exposed ankle windows seen on the upper down to the 3M detailing on the heel. These two Turningpoint pairs hook up to the Philadelphia 76ers jerseys that the original Bred pair doesn’t so no uniformity rule breaking here. Now to get Baron Davis wearing the ‘Dragon Scale’ Li-Ning Hero from the Year of the Dragon pack.

During the 1982 NCAA National Championship game, Michael Jordan wasn’t laced from head-to-toe in apparel bearing his Jumpman logo he was wearing Converse. In commemoration of the game-winning shot MJ hit to mark his arrival to the basketball world and bring UNC the title that year, Jordan Brand teams up with Converse on a very limited sneaker/jersey set.

adidas adiZero Rose 2.5 – ‘Playoff’
With the Chicago Bulls being first in the Eastern Conference and having clinched a playoff position, the Bulls premiere player Derrick Rose will be in conversation throughout the NBA playoffs. When he’ll return to play is yet to be determined, but adidas is properly prepared with what might be the best colorway of the adiZero Rose 2.5 yet.
Grey patent leather is used on the toe along side tumbled nubuck seen on the upper. Red is used as the accent color ensuring that this sneaker will be right at home when worn with a Bulls jersey.
The similarities between Rose and Jordan are just uncanny. MJ’s fourth sneaker featured cement print as well, and it was common knowledge that Jordan often waited for the playoffs to unveil his latest signature sneaker in a mostly black colorway and Rose continues the tradition started by the last MVP to come out of Chicago.
Video gamers might remember that this is the adiRose 2.5 colorway seen in NBA 2K12.

The ‘Playoff Edition’ of the adiZero Rose 2.5 by adidas is in stores now for $110.
