Earl Clark agrees to a camp deal with Grizzlies

earl-clark-cavsFree agent forward Earl Clark accepts a training camp deal with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo!Sports.

The 26-year-old product from Louisville was recently under successive 10-day-contracts with the New York Knicks last season, and then was unfortunately dropped by the team after only playing in nine games.

Clark tallied 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds in those games and was clearly unable to fully showcase his true capabilities. He’s known to be a quality stretch 4, who can knock down jumpers around the perimeter with accuracy and a player who plays with tremendous energy by contributing the intangibles as well. This guy is full of effort—which is why any team can truly benefit from him—if given enough playing time.

Even though this is just a training camp gig—it’ll be really crucial because he needs to step up and be able to play his game with confidence again. And if he does, the Grizzlies will surely be putting his name into consideration for their final roster.

In Clark’s seven-year career in the league, he’s averaged 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds.
