Former Bucks Coach Larry Drew “Blindsided” By Firing

bucksdrew-0Jason Kidd’s sudden departure from Brooklyn and arrival in Milwaukee still has many reeling. None more so than Larry Drew perhaps. Drew was no doubt excited at the prospect of coaching #2 pick Jabari Parker, when out of nowhere, he found himself out of a job.

The entire ordeal was very sloppily handled and Bucks brass has more or less admitted that. But we haven’t heard from Drew (who is now an assistant in Cleveland) about his take on what went down.

Larry Drew said he was “blindsided” by the way he lost his job as head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks…

“From their (the owners’) standpoint, there’s no set time for these type of things,” Drew said in an interview with the Journal Sentinel. “It caught me in a position when I least expected it. But I know how these things work. I don’t have any hard feelings, any grudges against anybody.

“Marc (Lasry) called me and I just wished him luck. I’ve got to keep moving forward.”
