Report: Lakers Ask Bulls Permission to Talk to Tom Thibodeau

Kevin May 1, 2014 Rumors 1 Comment

thibodeau_cotm_110401With Mike D’Antoni quitting his second high-profile coaching gig in the last 3 years, the search is on for the next Lakers coach. It’s no secret that Kobe Bryant wasn’t exactly thrilled with playing for D’Antoni, so maybe he’s happy now.

It’s rumored that Kobe would love to play for Tom Thibodeau. Unfortunately, Kobe isn’t on the Bulls and Thibs doesn’t coach the Lakers. That would mean Thibs would need to relocate.

According to X, the Lakers have asked the Bulls permission to talk to Thibodeau. Obviously, the better coaching situation right now is in Chicago.

The Lakers will ask the Bulls for permission to speak with Tom Thibodeau, according to ESPNLA.com.

This comes on the heels of a report that the Lakers will interview George Karl, Byron Scott, Kurt Rambis, as well as pursue Kevin Ollie and John Calipari.
