The Celtics – Heat playoff series are no longer now that Boston’s core has broken up. When those two teams were meeting up in the playoffs, they provided classic matchups, as those two teams didn’t care for one another. One player at the heart of that was Rajon Rondo.
Even though it’s no longer a rivalry, Rondo’s feelings still haven’t changed. Based on that and that alone, it still makes a matchup between these two teams worth a peek.
Does Rajon Rondo think the Celtics-Heat rivalry is dead, as LeBron James said in November?
“That’s a tough question,” Rondo said. “It’s not a rivalry. But I still don’t like those guys.”
