Wizards’ Al Harrington Out a Month Following Knee Surgery

Because of the mediocrity of the East, teams who are sitting pretty so far from a standings perspective shouldn’t be as high as they are. The Washington Wizards are benefiting from this. They have one of the five best records in the Conference and are right around .500.

They’ll have to keep up their good play without veteran Al Harrington who will be out a month. But given the futility of the East, I’m sure they’ll manage.

Al Harrington, who had a “setback,” according to coach Randy Wittman over the weekend, had a procedure on his sore right knee and will miss at least four weeks and then be re-evaluated

Harrington hasn’t played since Nov. 12. He had a staph infection in the knee last season when he was with the Orlando Magic and has struggled to recover.
