In hockey you randomly see teams screw up the line changes that happen on the fly and you get too many men on the ice penalties. In basketball this rarely ever happens, as you can only make lineup changes at stoppages in play. The refs are not supposed to inbound the ball until the right number of players are on the floor.
But one fail led to another last night in the Mavs-Blazers game, as the Dallas Mavericks at one point ended up with a 6 on 5 situation with the ball in play. Peep the hilarity:
