Air Jordan IV – ‘Oregon Duckman’

If there is one school that has been known to receive special treatment through their sportswear endorsement deal, it is the University of Oregon.  Playing Alma Mater to Nike founder Phil Knight, the Oregon Ducks have since been blessed with the latest and arguably greatest equipment; namely sneakers.  This latest picture shows the mascot in an iconic pose that is synonymous with the brand as much as the Swoosh logo is.

Being labeled as the ‘Oregon Duckman’ Jordan IV, the school’s uniform colors of dark and light green are seen throughout the sneaker accenting the white upper on the 1989 Air Jordan.  Instead of the Jumpman that traditionally can be seen on this sneaker in several places, the school’s O logo is on the tongue instead.  You can see the Jumpman logo that Michael Jordan made famous is replicated by the University of Oregon Ducks mascot and stitched on the heel tab.  2012’s sneaker feature of the year, the speckled midsole, is used on this as well with a black speckle print is seen on the dark green towards the bottom of the shoe.  Oregon is no stranger to having Air Jordans made especially for them, there have been pairs of the Jordan III and Jordan IV made especially for players and students who attend the most scholastic sporting events in a single season.

I will be the first to say that when first seen, I couldn’t help but think these were a fake pair of Jordan IVs but so far these have checked out to be authentic.
