After Carmelo Anthony took a beating from battling Metta World Peace on Christmas Day, the Knicks decided to sit their star scorer for last night’s contest against the Phoenix Suns. But the decision proved to be wise, as 6th man of the year candidate JR Smith stepped up with a big game down the stretch, hitting the game tying bucket, then the game winning buzzer beater on a catch and shoot. He’s a nice luxury to have in the scoring department for the Knicks this year.
