Video: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Loses Shoe, Scores Career High 25 Points

Many questioned Bobcats owner Michael Jordan’s selection of University of Kentucky forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist with the #2 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.

True, Kidd-Gilchrist plays like a man possessed, is a defensive stopper, and helped lead the Wildcats to an NCAA Championship but he still struggles to find his own shot and has that nasty hitch in his delivery that undoubtedly affects his accuracy.

Two nights ago, Gilchrist may have committed a cardinal sin in basketball by shoving a referee while trying to diffuse a potential nasty tiff between former college teammate Anthony Davis and Byrun Mullens, a move which many thought warranted a suspension.

But luckily for the Cats, Kidd-Gilchrist was available for their contest against the rebuilt Dallas Mavericks last night as he poured in a career high 25 points and 12 boards to help Charlotte win their first ever game against Dallas.

During some of the action during the 3rd quarter, MKG came up big, picking up a key steal and went coast-to-coast for the score, even losing his shoe on the path to the basket.

In case you forgot, MKG is the new poster boy for Jordan Brand, so he can’t even go to the boss of the company to complain about the craftmanship of his new shoes.
