Video: Ray Who?……Jason Terry Sinks 17 Straight 3-Pointers

It’s been well publicized about future Hall of Famer Ray Allen’s surprising move this offseason to leave the Boston Celtics and join the rival Miami Heat.

Rumor has it that Ray felt disrespected by having to come off the bench behind Avery Bradley or perhaps he just thought the Celtics had exhausted their chances at winning one more NBA title.

Whatever the reason, the Celtics have moved on from Allen by fortifying their bench with a combination of rookies like Sullinger, Melo, and Joseph along with veterans like Lee, Green, and Barbosa.  But the real key off-season acquisition was 3 point specialist Jason Terry from the Mavericks.

The 13 year NBA veteran and former NBA 6th Man of the Year(2009) certainly fits right in with the Celtics in terms of swagger, intensity, and focus while ranking among the NBA’s all time best 3 point shooters.  Terry also has the ability to spell All-Star Rajon Rondo at the point in a pinch as Terry originally broke into the Association as a floor general with the Hawks.

I know it’s only the preseason, but could the Celtics be even better without Ray Allen?  The Jet has already gone on record saying his mission is to “kill the Heat.”  Sounds like fighting words………

No they didn’t we did, as a Celtics fan I know I want to think Terry is better, but Ray Allen shot 45% from deep last year, he’s the greatest shooter of all time, and while terry might be a marginally better scorer right now, he isn’t even a top 5 shooter in the league. He hasn’t shot above 38% in 5 years.
