UK National Championship Corn Maze [PIC]

It has been a glorious Summer around Lexington, Kentucky as the Bluegrass State’s beloved Wildcats have been celebrating winning the school’s 8th National Championship, taking down Kansas to cap off another exciting college basketball season.

But as the ’12-’13 season is rapidly approaching, a farm in Harrodsburg, Kentucky has decided to help honor the team one more time for their victory by carving out an amazing corn maze in their crops.

The Devine Family’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch, opening on September 14th, has provided family entertainment on their farm in Mercer County, Kentucky to guests from all across the state to enjoy fall activities for 5 years running but has decided to give visitors and Wildcat fans alike a treat upon picking out their pumpkin for the Fall season by creating a corn maze that includes the championship logo and the likeness of the championship trophy.

After winning the 2012 National Title, the Wildcats once again sent 5 players to the NBA led by National POY Anthony Davis and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who went consecutively as the top two picks to New Orleans and Charlotte.  Coach Cal also worked his magic on the recruiting trail to secure another top recruiting class for next season led by #1 ranked HS player Nerlens Noel, Alex Poythress, Archie Goodwin, and Willie Cauley-Stein in an attempt to repeat.

Mazes in other years have included the World Equestrian Games logo, the state of Kentucky itself, and the Final Four logo from 2011.  No word whether next year’s maze will somehow incorporate incoming prized freshman Nerlens Noel’s trademark high rise box top but surely UK fans would like to see one featuring a 9th Championship Trophy.
