Not too long ago I invested in this super fast gaming laptop, with over 8 GBs of ram and it is so SICK! I can play the new WOW release, Need For Speed: MW, and Max Dirt Bike and with no lagg ever. I bought mine from AlienWare, all for like $500 greenbacks all in… pretty good deal in my opinion.

@SHARKSBREATH and everyone saying Fleming is too short: uhhh…check out the growth charts – 5’1″ is above the 97th percentile in height for an American male of 10.5 years old (the 97th percentile would be 6 foot 2). You might have to worry about Jashaun Agosto, who is reportedly 12 years old and 4 foot 10. But Fleming will not be 5’10; “lucky” would be more like 6’5.

I guess the father is “damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t”! Let’s say he is trying to excel his son so he makes $$$. If it doesnt happen at least the kid will have a father who cared and spent time with him to advance at something he likes. The boy will go on to play high school ball and will obviously get a free ride to college. Say it stops there and he doesn’t go pro…..say he’s not good enough……At least he has an education and his father kept him focused on sports and kept him out of trouble. The country would be lucky to have more fathers like this. God speed young man…….and work on that vertical jump! Peace.

The lad certainly has talent in handling a basketball, and that’s great. I hope he does well as he advances through his school years. Regarding the bible, I don’t know how many kids his age read any book, outside their school classroom. But, the bible is often very difficult to understand, even for adults. Seems like his dad is pushing him in that respect.

Doesn’t sound like he is forced to read it to me. It sounded like his parents wanted to give him a good ground to start with life, work hard in school, study, then do what you love. Too many parents might see his ability and say, nurture that gift, you’re better, and then the kid just plays ball, neglects school and doesn’t have a future if they don’t succeed at the game.

He obviously has a long way to go and height and athletic ability will be the difference-maker for whether he’s a future pro or a high school baller. But there probably aren’t more than 1 or 2 kids his age with those ballhandling skills.

He’s focusing on school and playing the piano… who cares if he’s mispronouncing bible references? Give the kid a break, he’s 10!

His mind is being poisoned because he mispronounced Philippians? Okkkkkk?

And why does everyone assume that the Dad is just trying to use his son? Anytime the kids’ parents are mentioned in a piece like this, its the parents trying to make a buck off their child’s gift? Is it ever possible that the KID actually LOVES basketball? That he WANTS to get better at the game and be the best player on the team?

And I actually commend the father for focusing on education and creating a clear distinction between home life and basketball. Sounds like he’s doing his best to make sure his son has some balance in his life, and that he’s got his priorities in order.

Also sounds like there’s quite a few haters on this website too lol.
