NCAA Top 5 Dunks Of The Week

February 5, 2010 – Allen Moll

While some of the best dunks from the world of college basketball have come from some well known athletes and players like John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, and Damion James in past weeks, don’t sleep on a few less heralded jammers like Boston College’s BJ Raji, Michigan State’s Chris Allen, or Virginia’s Mustapha Farrakhan, all of which makes my list of Top 5 NCAA Dunks of the Week.

For all of the Wes Johnson fans out there, check out his two handed monster dunk vs Providence, which just missed the cut for this week. Wes Johnson’s draft stock is rising fast and you can be sure to hear his name mentioned on The Hoop Doctors, more and more in the coming months.

#5 – BC’s Corey Raji Alley Oop vs Clemson

#4 – Texas A&M’s Ray Turner Facial Dunk on Missouri

#3 – Michigan State’s Chris Allen Tomahawk Dunk vs Northwestern

#2 – Syracuse’s Wes Johnson’s Posterization of DePaul

#1 – Mustafa Farrakhan’s Posterization against NC State

These are some ridiculous facials! They are all fantastic. I thought that the Turner and Allen dunks were the most ferocious, personally. Great post!

Georgai tech’s Glen Rice Jr. had 2 dunks that were better than all of these. Georgia Tech has better dunks than these every game they play.

I was there for the Farrakhan dunk! Wahoowa!

It was insane. For a good 5 minutes the entirety of the John Paul Jones Arena was going crazy. Then he made the and-1 and we went crazy again. It was a low-scoring game so it was a great moment to let some energy out.

And I really don’t think Mustapha deserved to get T’d. He just stared the guy down. Javier threw the shoulder. Mustapha didn’t change his facial expression for the rest of the game and nailed a 3 the next time he touched the ball.

Mustapha had a really good dunk but styll thats disrespect and poor sportsmanship when you stare down a player. A true athlete does his dunk and gets prepared for the next play. There is no reason for you to stare down players, all that brings is negative tension and vibes on the court and the bench!

    P.S.

@Steve – Glen Rice Jr, Peacock, Favors, and co. are definitely on our radar and if they continue attacking the rim, he surely will make the list in coming weeks.

@Saga New Moon and A Omarkhail – Hopefully Farrakhan keeps that snarl on his face for the rest of the season so the whole country gets to see him come March.

What is it about players getting overly aggressive after dunking?

Damn, where does BJ Raji find the time to juggle Boston College and Green Bay Packers practices?
