Nate Robinson Is Heading to Boston

February 18, 2010 – Dr. Browntorious

For the past week we have been hearing a variety of rumors about New York Knicks Guard and Slam Dunk Champion, Nate Robinson heading to the Boston Celtics either directly or in a three team trade. None of the scenarios seemed all that feasible until now. We just read on ESPN True Hoop that the Knicks and Celtics have agreed in principle to a deal that would send Nate Robinson to the Celtics. While the details of the transaction aren’t clear at this point, it looks as if the Celtics would be sending the Knicks Eddie House, J.R. Giddens and Bill Walker.

We will get you more details as they become known, but for now it looks like the Celtics will immediately improve from this trade. Although I love Eddie House’s game and the spark he provides off the bench with his clutch shooting, he is nowhere near as versatile a scorer as Nate Robinson. For a strong defensive team like the Celtics that sometimes falls into a lull offensively, Nate Robinson should immediately have an impact on their offensive output.

On the flip side, the party that may benefit the most from this trade is Eddie House. Being once again paired up with his old coach from his Phoenix Days, Mike D’Antoni, House will certainly benefit from their ‘shoot first, ask questions later’ approach to offense.

ESPN:

Multiple sources say the Knicks have reached a tentative agreement on a deal with Boston sending Nate Robinson and a second player to the Celtics for Eddie House, J.R. Giddens and Bill Walker. The identity of the second New York player was not immediately clear.
