Craig Sager ‘Fail’ Interviewing Steve Nash

You probably assumed that any fail related to Craig Sager would be his wardrobe, right? Although Sager is the most flamboyant dressing reporter in basketball, maybe even all sports (sorry Don Cherry), this recent fail was related to an interview he had with Phoenix Suns Guard Steve Nash. It appears during this interview on All-Star Sunday that Sager forgets what he was planning to say. But in a classic reporting/pr move Sager just starts all over again and pretends like nothing happened. Oh by the way, this was live TV. Did he really think it would get edited out? All in all though, I give Steve Nash all the credit in the world for holding it together throughout the Sager fail, and not bursting out into laughter. I wouldn’t have had the restraint Mr. Nash shows:

    Yeah, it’s actually not that uncommon for these to be recorded slightly before airing. It is easier sometimes that trying to coordinate the broadcast schedule with athlete availability.

    That seems like an easy mistake to make.

    far from fail… misdirection maybe? miscommunication maybe? steve nash had no idea if its live or taped… just a small oops no one really noticed.

    Uhhh, “made a fool of himself”? You guys are stretching that badly for news huh? Sad. Don’t ever call Craig Sager fail, he’s a consummate professional and the best sideline report of all-time. Very disappointed in you HoopDoctors.

    There is no fail here. People slip up and lose their train of thought, and sometimes start over to remember where they were going with the conversation. If anything I think he handles himself well, along with Steve Nash.
