Wilt Chamberlain didn't score 100 points in a single game with the sixers. He was on the Philadelphia (now Golden State) Warriors when he did that. Chamberlain only played with the sixers from 1965–68. He had his 100 point game in 1962 the Warriors last season in Philadelphia before moving to Cali.

Thanks, Allen and Rick. You make great points! Totally agree about Moses' short stay, but Erving lost his two previous trips to the NBA Finals and I had to factor that in. Allen, it's good to get your perspective as a philadelphian.

Correction: #2 Moses Malone. He played on the 1983 team with Bobby Jones (not Caldwell). Other members of that team include Marc Ivaroni, Andrew Toney, and Clint Richardson.

I agree with Allen that Iverson should be higher than 4, but it was a great read De France. Nice throwback piece to some of the old Sixers haven't thought about in a while.

Great list RS. As a lifelong Sixers fan, I would tend to favor some of the more recent players in this order: Wilt, Iverson, Dr J, Barkley, and Hal Greer.

Wilt should be #1 on anyone's list. I put A.I. at #2 because he embodied Philly and carried a defensive oriented squad to the Finals, where the Doctor and Greer had a better cast around them. Barkley was also a one man wrecking crew and was one of the best rebounders in his era. The chuckster's best supporting players were Hersey Hawkins and Ron Anderson. Moses is a tough one since although he helped them win in '83, he wasn't in Philly for too long.

Excellent read!
