I also agree with Garron and Jeff that someone from the Celts should have made the list. Although it would be a tough choice as of who to put on. Pierce, Garnett, Allen, and co don't have overly impressive stats but all are key to Boston winning games, similar to the Atlanta argument. I guess that Pierce would get the nod, but we all saw what a difference Garnett makes last year. You have my word that a Celtic will be on the list next month.

John,

I agree with you. But as I stated in the article, Atlanta has had a number of key contributors. I think if Johnson would go down for a short stint(knock on wood), Atlanta could still win some games because of the many good players like Bibby. Horford, Marvin Williams(who has scored 20+ off the bench). You couldn't say that about Nowitzki in Dallas, Nash in Phoenix, or James in Cleveland, who I rank higher. Add in that Johnson is probably still a bit underrated where most of the nation really hasn't seen him play. He would probably have to avg 30+ points and get more TV exposure to win the award. Not that I agree with the voters, but that is how they select the winner.

Where would the Atlanta Hawks be ? Do you think they would be where they are if it wasn't for M.V.P. JOE JOHNSON !!! He is the Heart and Soul of the Hawks. Josh Smith is always out of control, The other player I would consider is Al Horford works hard every night.

I agree with Garron, you definitely could have given Pierce or Garnett the love. When you think about Garnett after how bad the Celtics dropped after he went out of the lineup you realize the true "most valuable" aspect of Garnett.
