How is that hypocritical? All he’s saying is if your team is from New Jersey and New Jersey funds go to it, you might as well represent New Jersey. True, this is not nearly as bad as the Jets or Giants (or the MLS’s Red Bulls), but it’s not like he’s being irrational and there’s not a bit of hypocrisy in what he says…

The Nets are moving BACK TO NY in 2 years! The Giants AND Jets will NEVER change from NY to nj. The NY name is too powerful to get rid of!!! If you dont like it, dont watch the games!!! Freaking low-class nj idiots!!!

@sublicon – I can see how you’d be annoyed as a Nets fan. But would you rather politicians make public policy on sports team jersey’s or on something a bit more important for the public as a whole? Wait don’t answer that…..I might have to agree…lol

It does seem weird that neither the Jets or the Giants represent New Jersey, even though they’ve both played their home games there for at least 25 years.

The Nets, by comparison, aren’t so bad. At least everyone KNOWS they play there- it’s not some ruse like the NFL teams are trying to pull off.

I hate to say it, I’m kind of pissed they removed New Jersey too. I don’t give a shit about taxes, I just want to represent. Now they only have authentics in size 60, can’t get them in 44 anymore. I need to find one.
