I could be totally wrong, but my take is that if Odom wanted to be in Miami he would've signed already. What's he waiting for if not a better offer from LA?

Anklesnap, I totally agree that Odom has been disrespected, by the team and the fans. When they lost to Boston, he took A LOT of heat. Then they gave away his starting spot. Now they want him to take a 50% pay cut. He might come to Miami but only because LA basically pushed him out.

I think Odom's staying in L.A. Once both sides stop posturing (Odom's agent on one end, Jerry Buss on the other) and get down to business, an LO-L.A. deal will get done quickly IMO.

Boozer's the more realistic option here (again IMO). Utah HAS to move him because of salary cap considerations, which puts Miami in great position to score him on the cheap. I see Boozer in a Heat uniform by the trade deadline (at the latest).

@Knee Jerk -I'm not %100 convinced that Odom doesn't actually prefer Miami. He already has the ring every player covets, and remember how much he loved being in Miami on the last go around. It wasn't that long ago when Odom was traded by Riley in the Shaq deal that he was unhappy about having to leave the City.

This is all speculation of course, but if I were Odom I would still be slightly offended by the way he was jerked around regarding PT while LA was feeling out an oft-injured, and completely unproven Andrew Bynum....

You're right though that Boozer doesn't play much defense. Odom is a decent defender due to his length. Probably the better option. If i'm Riley i'd hate to gamble on a guy that is Mr. Glass...given what's at stake....

Either way, I guess this means Beasley will be playing more time at the 3 spot?

I'm really not a fan of Carlos Boozer. He's screwed over two teams already and plays no defense whatsoever. However if the question is 'who should Miami sign' then I have to give him the nod over Odom. Why? Lamar doesn't want to leave LA. He's only using Miami to leverage Jerry Buss. It's not a complete bluff; he will leave if the offer isn't right. But if you're Pat Riley, do you want to spend all that money on a 30 year old with a history of injury problems who sees your team as a disappointing fallback?
