Of course people hate him because he’s a Dookie, but its more than that. I think its the Tyler Hansbrough/Tim Tebow college sports phenomenon that happens occasionally.

The press crowned J.J. Redick as the Almighty…

then something even more unexpected happened…

He acted like he was the almighty…

That’s why people (me) hated him. At the end of the day, he’s a glorified Tim Legler. He doesn’t do anything more than Steve Kerr, Eddie House, Steve Novak, or Jason Kapono. That’s a problem, and why he’s riding the bench constantly. To my dude who spoke about Roger Mason so highly, that’s why Rog (who can kinda handle, and kinda play D) got a nice contract from the Spurs. Redick wouldn’t get that.

Am I wrong in saying the explanation is mostly due to one thing: he’s a dukie.

I laid in bed last night thinking about why people hate Reddick. I always thought once players hit the NBA that all that angst that fans had fizzled out. Apparently not in some cases. I hope Reddick doesn’t give in the feeling the victim or frustration and endures through it.
