Video: Bynum Injures Knee, Kobe’s Pained Facial Expression…

Andrew Bynum Kobe Bryant

January 31, 2009 – Dr. J-Water

Andrew Bynum worked hard to rehabilitate from his last knee injury. The Lakers have really been on a roll and much of that success has been credited to the present day twin towers of Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol. Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest players in the game, but even he knows that without a good supporting cast, winning ain’t easy. That’s why Kobe Bryant had a look for severe pain and anxiety on his face tonight when he saw Andrew Bynum on the hardwood writhing and screaming in pain as he clutched his knee. Laker’s fans took a collective gasp as Bynum went down again….and i’m sure all Lakers fans are collectively praying that surgery won’t be necessary.

We’ll keep you posted as we get more information, but for now here is a video replay of the play where Bynum gets hurt, and a replay of Kobe’s facial expression that says it all:

[...] ONE: Andrew Bynum, who has been playing out of his mind recently, has gone down with a knee injury, against the Memphis Grizzlies, and had to be carried off the court. Deja vu anyone? Of course, the exact same thing happened last year, and we all know what ensued. The Lakers still ended up #1 out West but fell short in the Finals due to a lack of defense and toughness – the exact ingredients Bynum was supposed to provide. A Stern Warning has photos and the story. UPDATE: More at NBA FanHouse and video at the Hoop Doctors. [...]

You’re putting thoughts into bryant’s mind now? He can’t just be worried about a teammate? He can’t feel guilty because he fell on his knee? No, that would humanize the evil Kobe Bryant. If he feels bad it has to be out of pure machiavelian calculation.

    You’re disgraceful.

If anyone has seen Kobe’s stuff with Cabbie up here in Canada it is clear he is Human and has a pretty good sense of humour actually.

Of course Kobe is disappointed the Lakers won’t be as good without Bynum. He’s a winner, bball is his life.

I’m sure he was worried about his teammate, but you’d have to be naiive as hell to believe that facial expression wasn’t mostly disappointment that the Lakers chances just took a hit.

Kobe’s a great ball player, but he’s no saint. It’s annoying as hell when people like this ‘loteq’ don’t realize their bball heroes are just human.

@loteq – I may be disgraceful but I do it with both eyes open.

    P.s. – Pimpin’ ain’t easy
