Video: Rasheed Wallace is the REAL “Professor”!

November 15, 2008 – Dr. Anklesnap
Last night’s ‘must-see’ match-up between the LA Lakers and the Detroit Pistons in LA did not disappoint. There were a lot of story lines playing out, from Kobe Bryant and Richard Hamilton getting in each others grillz all night long, to Allen Iverson finally fitting in seamlessly to his new team’s offense by scoring at the right moments and racking up assists on kick-outs to virtually everyone on the floor with him. Of course the surprising conclusion was the Detroit Pistons beating the then undefeated LA Lakers fairly smoothly by maintaining a lead of 15+ points for most of the second half.
There was something else that was a bit peripheral to the on court action however, that I found very entertaining. Rasheed Wallace is no doubt a veteran leader. But normally you think of him as a player that leads by example on the court, and at his worst is motivating to his teammates by standing up to the bullies and the refs often resulting in technical fouls or ejections. Where you don’t often picture Wallace is being in a huddle or on the bench acting the professor or teacher role to the young ballers on his team. I almost fell off my chair laughing when I saw this video clip during the game last night of Wallace with a clip board preaching X’s and O’s to Kwame Brown and Walter Herrmann.
