Gilbert Arenas is “The Creator”: New Adidas “Brotherhood” Video

Gilbert Arenas Adidas

November 3, 2008 – Dr. Anklesnap

We all know Gilbert Arenas is one of the most interactive NBA superstars with fans and media. We all know he’s a man of the people, known to randomly show up at outdoor courts and hoop with whoever and whenever completely unannounced. That’s love for the game. True Love.

Adidas recently sent The Hoop Doctors this new ‘Basketball Is A Brotherhood’ video with Gilbert Arenas and DeShawn Stevenson, doin’ what they do best. Motivating people at the grassroots and playin’ the game they love. In this edition of ‘The Brotherhood’ Arenas is considered to be “The Creator”, in future editions Dwight Howard will be “The Commander” and Kevin Garnett will BE the “Brotherhood”. I’ll keep ya’ll posted.

Check this cool vid, and let us know in our comments section below what “Basketball is a Brotherhood” means to you…

    Gilbert is cool with the blogging and all, but when is the guy gonna play some hoops again? So many injuries, really killin’ his cred right now man.

    Brotherhood is meanin’ basically havin’ your boyz back no matter what, on and off the court.

    Brotherhood? Arenas only cares about his own stats and glory. He is a ballhogg and shouldn’t be part of this “brotherhood”

    adidas has the right idea, wrong star.

    @rayMonde

    I guess you just jump on whatever other people say and never look at stats yourself. Gilbert has better assist numbers for his career than most of the other high scoring guards in the NBA.

    Basically you’re just a hater.

    Now I am not a fan of Gilbert but I do like what he shows in the clip. Basketball is bigger than shoe contracts and stats, it is all about growing the game and the image of the sport. Maybe one of those kids will grow up to be a basketball star because of the time spent with Gilbert?

    If I understand just what happened these kids have no idea of what their in for due to a chance visit from one of the NBA’s funny-men. The three choices of Gilbert, Dwight, and KG are great. All of them appear to have fun with life and through their involvement with basketball. Great theme choice by adidas for this particular series.

    Cuzzy and Coach J have it pegged. Regardless of your feelings about Gilbert as a player, there is no denying his star is bright in the NBA. What Adidas and Gilbert do for the fans is not just entertaining but also very motivating and a great example.

    lmao, that’s not safe, following a bunch of nba players around without any notice beforehand, could be kidnapping them lol

    @Jay HAHAHAHAHA That’s so true man. They just get in the truck with Arenas like he’s their friend. He could be a pedophile for all they know! hahaha ahhhh the power of stardom

    Basketball is Brotherhood basically means that you give a guy respect like he’s your Brother as soon as you know he’s a baller. Kinda like the Boater’s wave, all boater’s do a little wave to other boaters on the water. Unwritten rule kinda, you know?

    I am not a baller, I have a problem when it comes to dribblin but I love this video. I wish the Mavs had this guy.
