When the blazers played the lakers in the western conference finals back in 2000, that was when i became a die-hard blazers fan. When kemp got traded to the blazers our local news showed highlights of Shawn doing windmill slams and throwing down nasty ally-oops when he was a sonic and I got so excited because i knew this was the final piece of the puzzle that the blazers needed and this was before i knew he had a weight problem. So here i was, a ten year old boy waiting to see the blazers first pre-season game with kemp. When the game started i said to my dad, "who was that fat guy with the number 40", he didn't answer. I then soon read that guys name on the back of his jersey and it said kemp. I was thinking, no freakin' way the blazers would pay a 330lb guy $96 mil. for a contract. I was expecting a lean 245lb highflying shawn kemp but what i saw was a BIG guy and all he could do was shoot 18-20ft jumpshots. He later averaged like 6.1 points a game that year and the blazers weren't the same again. When i saw kemp on the slam interview i couldn't believe how much weight he lost. I was happy to see kemp has sacrificed everything so he could play ball again. Last i heard he lost 75lbs! Good luck in italy Kemp and i can't wait to see you on youtube! Sorry my writing is worse than greg oden's. lol

@Brandon

Rodman used to really get in peoples heads. But you're right I don't think that series Rodman had much effect on Kemp as his series numbers were higher than his regular season numbers.

Just so happened that Payton and Kemp walked into a really complete team, probably the best team ever with 72 win season. Payton and Kemp was pretty much all they had. Myabe schrempf

@ Dan: How was Kemp psyched out by Rodman? He averaged 23 points, 10 rebounds, and shot 55% from the field.
