Joker = Rodman? Good comparison, although I don't believe in Rodman being evil. The only evil thing he has ever done in the world of basketball is denying the NBA championship from Utah Jazz (with Malone and Stockton).

It's really interesting to hear that he used judo technique for rebounding, because I had also been doing judo for 8 years. I never realized it, but obviously this is one of the major reasons I am a very good rebounder despite my height of just 6'. I can easily outrebound players 5-6 inches taller than me. So this is the judo secret of basketball. :-))

One more secret is to add Bharatanatyam dance to the training program.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bharatanatyam

This makes the legs like steel. Strong muscles, high lateral speed, good rhythm - all important assets of a good defender.

I have to agree with jigga. I think Jordan relished in the fact that Rodman would take some of the attention off of him. With as much media he always received, he was likely thankful for the small reprieve Rodman created.

Great post Hoop Docs.

Why does every discussion where Jordan's name comes up have to mention Kobe? Stop comparing the two, it's bogus. Kobe is nowhere near jordan.

Yeah I agree wit you JR!

Jordan got the best out of Rodman. Kobe however would have just threatened to quit the team every time Rodman did something weird and took the spotlight off of him. I think Jordan in a way was happy that rodman was crazy off the court. Every little bit of media attention deflected to someone else made jordan happy to not be such a target all the time.

Also, Rodman's IQ apparently is off the charts. I read that somewhere before too.
